Ingredients

  • 2 cups soft butter (no salt)
  • 3 ½ cups granulated sugar
  • 6 eggs (whole)
  • 6 egg yolks
  • 1 tbsp. vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp. salt
  • 3 ½ cup all-purpose flour

Directions

Keep the oven on preheat at 350F. Grease a pan and keep aside. Take butter in a large bowl and beat it until it is creamy and smooth. Add sugar and beat again for 2 min until the ingredients are mixed together completely. The combined mixture must be light and fluffy. Mix eggs, egg yolks, vanilla extract, and salt together. Use a fork to beat this mixture. Now slowly add butter and sugar mixture in this batter. Add flour to it and mix it well. Now pour this mixture in the greased pan evenly. Let the cake bake for 1 hour. Let it cool and serve.

Ingredient

  • 225gm caster sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • ½ lemon zest
  • 1 tbsp. vanilla extract
  • 225gm all-purpose flour
  • milk

Directions  

Keep the oven on preheat at 180C. Grease a pan and keep aside. Crack an egg once at a time and keep beating until it is nice and fluffy. Now add sugar, lemon zest, vanilla, milk, flour, and a pinch salt. Try to fold as much air as possible while mixing all the above ingredients. A good batter with air pockets gives the cake a nice sponginess. Transfer the batter into the greased pan.  Bake it for 30 minutes. Take the cake out of the oven once baked thoroughly. You can decorate this cake with any flavor of icing.
